Recently the modernization works which included the design, engineering, supply and commissioning of a pretreatment and pasteurization plant for the bioenergy center in Freienhufen have been successfully completed and taken over by Abfallentsorgungsverband Schwarze Elster. The equipment was installed in the mechanical-biological treatment plant where existing equipment as hydrolysis, digesters, decanter, CHP are further used to utilize the slurry produced from biowaste after pretreatment for biogas production. Biowaste is first treated fully automatic in a dry and wet pretreatment system to crush the biowaste and remove contaminants as plastic, sand, stones glass etc. before the biowaste slurry is treated in the existing digestion plant. According to the European requirements, proweps has also installed the pasteurization plant for liquid digestate separated in the decanters. No further treatment is required to utilize the high quality digestate directly as organic fertilizer. Optimization and extension of existing waste treatment plants is an interesting opportunity to increase their capacity, energetic efficiency, and sustainability. It is also an interesting economic solution as existing infrastructure is further used and costs can be minimized. Proweps says thank you to our customer AEV Schwarze Elster, to U.E.C. Berlin (planning office) and to all equipment suppliers for excellent and trustful cooperation.
