Conversion from electricity to biomethane production

The majority of biogas plants use biogas produced from organic waste or biomass to produce electricity and heat in combined heat and power plants. An interesting alternative use of biogas is its further processing and feeding of the produced biomethane into a public natural gas network. This ensures the most efficient energetic use of biomethane locally in different applications e.g. as sustainable biofuel . The CO2 separated during biogas processing can be liquefied and recycled e.g. in food industry. This leads to negative CO2-emissions from the biogas plant. We provided all the necessary consulting and engineering services for the conversion of the biowaste anaerobic plant of BRS Bioenergie GmbH in Deißlingen, Germany from electricity to biomethane production. Our works included all planning services, tendering and participation in the awarding of technological equipment, support for certifications according to SURE and RedCert, coordination of the natural gas grid connection with the grid connection contract, participation in the contract negotiations for selling the biomethane, supervision of the construction and commissioning of the new plants. In this context, we also accompanied the tendering and awarding of a photovoltaic system. Furthermoer we have prepared the feasibility study for a CO2 liquefaction plant at the site. The biogas upgrading (physical scrubber technology) and biomethane injection plants are successfully in operation since June 2023. We support our customers with all the services required to convert the use of biogas in a CHP plant to biomethane production and grid injection..
